The Old Welsh Grey

Old Welsh Grey c1935

Now sadly extinct.  This pastoral dog, one of the many goat-haired sheepdogs of Britain, was used for centuries as a herder of livestock in the principality.  At the beginning of the 20th century many Welsh farmers emigrated to Patagonia and the breed lives on in the blood of The Barbucho or Patagonian Sheepdog (barba is the Spanish for beard).
